Bronze head has multiple meanings including homosexuality, a birthing scene, and power of the diviner. It is a photograph by Rotimi Fani-Kayode produced in 1987. Kayode was a Nigerian photographer who worked in Britain. He explored the concepts of sexuality, race, and culture through his work by creating obscene portraits and compositions. The Bronze Head is seen as signifying an artist’s spirit by using an image of sodomy. It rejects profanity and instead provokes sexual desire and beautiful concepts. The body of the black body is a subject of desire, instead of an object.[1] Rotimi Fani-Kayode was considered an outsider, but he had the power to create work that was important to him, even though others may have seen it in a different way.
